Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Vilva D2C (“Vilva D2C”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) provides an e-commerce platform that helps merchants run their direct-to-consumer storefronts — including orders, payments, and shipping. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from merchants who use our platform and, where relevant, the end customers who buy through merchant storefronts, how we use and share that information, and the choices available to you. This is a placeholder policy for a fictional product and is provided for illustrative purposes only — it is not legal advice.

1. Overview

Vilva D2C is a SaaS platform used by merchants to manage their online stores, including catalog, orders, payments, shipping, and customer communications. In the course of providing this service, we process data about the merchants who hold accounts with us and, on their behalf, data about the end customers who place orders through those merchants’ storefronts. This policy describes both categories of processing. If you are an end customer of a merchant using Vilva D2C, the merchant is generally responsible for how your data is used in connection with your purchase, and we act as a data processor or service provider on their behalf for that data.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information — name, business name, email address, phone number, billing details, and login credentials for merchants and their team members.
  • Store and transaction data — product catalogs, pricing, order history, payment transaction records, invoices, refunds, and store configuration settings.
  • End-customer data merchants upload or generate — names, shipping and billing addresses, contact details, and order details belonging to a merchant’s own customers, submitted through checkout, order management, or bulk import.
  • Usage and analytics data — pages visited, features used, device and browser type, IP address, and timestamps, collected to understand how the platform is used and to improve it.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — as described in the Cookies & Tracking section below.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Vilva D2C platform, including order processing, payments, and shipping workflows.
  • Authenticate accounts, secure the platform, and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • Provide customer support and respond to merchant inquiries.
  • Send service notifications, billing communications, and, where opted in, product updates.
  • Analyze usage patterns to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the platform.
  • Comply with legal obligations, including tax, accounting, and record-keeping requirements.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell merchant or end-customer information to third parties for advertising purposes. We share information only as needed to operate the platform and deliver the services merchants sign up for, including with:

  • Payment processors, to authorize and settle transactions on behalf of merchants.
  • Shipping and logistics partners, to fulfill and track orders.
  • Analytics providers, to help us understand aggregate platform usage and improve reliability.
  • Cloud infrastructure and hosting providers, who store and process data on our behalf under contract.
  • Professional advisors, auditors, or regulators, where required to comply with law.
  • A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to equivalent privacy commitments.

5. Data Retention

We retain account, transaction, and end-customer data for as long as a merchant’s account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, tax, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations. Merchants may request deletion of their store data at any time, subject to records we are required to retain by law. When data is no longer needed, we take steps to securely delete or anonymize it.

6. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect merchant and end-customer data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is completely secure, so we encourage merchants to use strong, unique passwords and enable available account protections. For more detail on our platform security practices, see our Security page.

7. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the platform is used. Some cookies are essential to core functionality and cannot be disabled; others support analytics and product improvement and can generally be controlled through your browser settings. Disabling non-essential cookies may affect certain features of the platform.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Merchants can manage much of their own account and store data directly within the platform. To submit a request — including on behalf of an end customer whose data a merchant has uploaded — contact our privacy team as described below, and we will route and respond to the request in line with applicable law.

9. International Data Transfers

We and our service providers may process and store data in countries other than the one in which you or your customers are located. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we use appropriate safeguards designed to ensure it continues to receive a comparable level of protection, consistent with applicable data protection laws.

10. Children’s Privacy

Vilva D2C is a business platform intended for merchants and their staff, and is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised “Last updated” date, and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.

12. Contact
